The Photography Prize is open to :
artists resident in Luxembourg
Luxembourg artists living abroad
artists living in the Greater Region (Lorraine, Grand Est, Wallonia, Ostbelgien in Belgium, Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg).
The aim of the Prize is to reward a recent, unpublished contemporary work. In line with its aim of promoting contemporary art, the Prize favours photography that meets the requirements of artistic quality, research, innovation and originality.
The prize is awarded every two years. The next Open Call is expected to take place in autumn 2025.

- Artists from the Greater Region (Lorraine, Grand Est, Wallonia, East Belgium, Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany, and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg).

The competition recognises current, contemporary works that have not yet been exhibited in Luxembourg.

* The organiser reserves the right to adjust or postpone dates or deadlines within the framework of the competition if necessary.

- Letter of motivation (max. 1 A4 page)
- Curriculum vitae (max. 1 A4 page) with contact details, education, exhibitions, publications
- Copy of identity card
- Description of the work (DE, FR, EN, LU; max. 500 characters)
- Technical data sheet of the work
- Declaration of material value (for insurance purposes)
- List of works with sales prices
- Artist photo (portrait format, .jpeg, 300 dpi, incl. credits)
- Digital reproduction:
- Photos: .jpeg, max. 2 MB
- Projections: MP4, max. 200 MB
Note: Applications not in ZIP format or submitted after the deadline will be rejected.
+ - 06. Pre-selection and jury
The jury for the selection and the photo prize consists of nationally and internationally recognised experts from the fields of culture and art. It makes its decisions by simple majority; in the event of a tie, the president has the casting vote. If necessary, the jury may call in two additional experts, who, however, do not have voting rights. Based on the applications received and the available exhibition space, the jury makes a pre-selection and determines the winners. The artists will be informed by email. The jury's deliberations are confidential, the decisions are final, cannot be contested and do not require justification.
+ - 07. Exhibition
- Each artist will receive an exhibition space measuring 2.50 m x 2.50 m
- Only works that physically fit into the space will be accepted
- Special installations (e.g. projections, power connection) must be specified in the technical data sheet
- Artists are responsible for the production, transport, insurance and functionality of their works
- The Cité de l'image will provide €250 incl. VAT for production costs
- Sales during the exhibition will be made directly by the artists
+ - 08. Audience Award
The audience has until August 23, 2026 to cast their anonymous vote for one of the participating artists on site at the exhibition. The audience award will be presented at the exhibition's closing event. The winner of the jury prize is excluded from the audience award.
+ - 09. Delivery, storage and insurance
- Delivery of works: by 15 June 2026 to:
- Brahaus, Montée du Château, L-9701 Clervaux
- Acceptance form to be signed upon delivery
- Storage and exhibition to be provided by the organiser
- ‘All risks’ insurance provided by the municipality of Clervaux, max. €3,000 incl. VAT per work
Artists must specify the material value of the works
