Pit Reding

In this series, the artist explores the body as a malleable form that seems to dissolve into light, shadow and movement. Light functions not merely as a tool, but as a language that reveals how bodies transform, blur and are reborn through visual alchemy. The artist reflects on the experience of marginalised queer bodies, as well as the tension between visibility and erasure, belonging and otherness. Light is the medium, movement the language, vulnerability the strength and metamorphosis the connection.

Through natural and artificial lighting, the images shift between clarity and abstraction. Bodies become landscapes; tenderness and resistance share the same space. Queerness acts as a compass, guiding the work towards empathy, fluidity and becoming. These photographs exist in a space where the physical meets the emotional, where light becomes touch, and where identity is in a state of constant flux, inviting us to feel rather than to define.

Pit Reding (born 1996, Luxembourg) is a queer photographer whose work conceives of the body as a fluid, ever-changing space. It is characterised by light, movement and emotional tension. Series such as Shapeshift (2025) explore visibility and vulnerability, depicting the body as something impermanent that is constantly reshaping itself.
